Ghosts Rapes of Bolivia

This is a documentary that I saw on youtube on a channel named VICE, this channel specializes in documentaries that are released every week. This one talks about the residents of Manitoba Colony in Bolivia, which are called Mennonnites, this colony in special is ultra conservative. The Mennonnites are like the Amish people, who get away from the technology and the big cities. They live in the country side and work all day. This colony is very, very religious, they say that the only path to heaven is to devote to God and work, work nicely and constantly. So since the kids are able to, they start working. This "ghost rapes" started in 2005, when the women woke up and started finding semen and blood in their sheets, but they couldn't remember what happened. The rapers would go inside the houses, and reaped avery women in the house, from the little girls to the mothers. One guy says that they went into his house, raped his wife, then his 4 daughters, the age didn't matter, not even if they were 3 years old. When this began, they said that it was the devil, then when the Bolivian police started the investigation(they don't have their own police) they found out that 8 members of the community were doing it, they used some spray they invented with cow sedative and put to sleep the hole family. This 8 guys were sent to prison, their sentence was 25 years. Yet, even when the culprits were in prison, the rapes continued. Later, the people who were investigating discovered that the real culprits, were the own family members. In the colony there are heavy incest cases, and the men of the house rapes their sisters and daughters. This happens in almost all houses, and there is a small possibility that the women knows the truth, yet they remain silence since their policy is to forgive. The colony members insist that if the 8 guys sent to prison ask forgiveness, then they can return, and they will be forgiven, because if we don't forgive other, God won't forgive us. A girl that run away from the colony said that the Ministers, who are the men who are in charge of the colony, don't care about this, they only care if someone buys a car or a radio, if you do that, then you are banished. This girl told them that his father was abusing her, yet they punished the whole family because they had a car, they didn't even listened what the girl had to say. Later when she got married, her husband started abusing her too.
This cases still exist, and in my opinion, their strict behavior and their religion is making them blind to the truth, at least that is what happens with the women, who can't even talk with strangers or foreigners, who can't continue with their studies and can't learn another language.

Eurotrip to Prague 2011

In 2011 with a group of fellow designers we went to Europe because of the Prague Cuadriennal. Theatre Designers came from all over the world and made their stands. It was so great to see that there are much more people doing the same than us. Other thing that I loved was that there, everybody knew what our job was about, there were no questions like; Oh! really? and what do you do for a living?.
We stayed at the Elf Hostel, it was awesome. When I arrived, it felt like home. This is because the first time I went in, I saw all my friends and classmates there, just hanging or eating, I had a very warm feeling. Most part of the Hostel were ours, because we were a lot of people. We just went from one room to another, visiting our friends. I think the girl that was in charge of this place went nuts because of us. We were a bit messy sometimes, and loud.
After the Cuadriennal ended, the traveling started. What I mean with this is that form the period of the Cuadriennal we stayed mostly in Prague, but after it ended we went to other places like Berlin, Vienna and Paris. The first place we went was Berlin. Here we stayed at my aunt's house. She has lived there since 1974 because she was a dancer and she had to scape from the military. She received us really well (me and two other friends), she gave us homemade food which was so good, we loved this so much because when we didn't had much money, we only ate sandwiches. We told us how to use the subway and buses and recommended us some places to go. We walked a lot on this trip, not just in Berlin, but everywhere.
At Vienna we visited some museums and we went to Schönbrunn palace, which was Sisi's palace. Here, we cooked a lot, we stayed at a Hostel too and we bought food and used the kitchen. The weather was awesome, it was hot, but suddenly it got windy and started raining pretty strong, but we weren't cold.
Paris was the last place we visited. The flight from Vienna to Paris was horrible, it was a really small plane, very uncomfortable. We were very sleepy but we couldn't sleep at all. When we arrived to Paris we started walking and saw the Eiffel Tower, we hadn't slept all night, but the moment I saw this, I woke up immediately and started walking towards it. Here we also went to the Mouling Rouge, it was beautiful, the costume were so full of colors and glitter.
We has an amazing trip, we enjoyed a lot.

Some great Movie Directors

I would like to talk about my favorite movie directors, Satoshi Kon and Hayao Miyasaki. Sadly, Satoshi Kon died on 2010, I was really sad about this because his movies were really good. I really liked his drawing, stories and characters, all of them were so full of life and magic. The first movie I saw was Paprika, which talks about dreams, and for me, if you compare it to Inception, is way better. There is also Perfect Blue, which was an inspiration for the director of the Black Swan, but Perfect Blue being the original is way better, the story is really catchy, the characters are really well made and you never expect what is going to happen next. Also, the ending is soooo good!. I could go on forever, because even though he didn't make much movies, all of them are awesome in some way, Millenium Actress, Tokyo Godfathers, Roujin Z, etc.
Hayao Miyazaki was the main director for the japanese film company Studio Ghibli, and a few days ago he announced he was retiring from the movies. His last movie is called: Kaze Tachinu, which means Wind Rises. It tells the story of an aircraft designer called Jiro Horikoshi from the WWII, it's based on his biographical book but it also contains the characteristic Ghibli magic. He received lots of criticism, not very good from a group of the japanese population because it was said that he mentioned things about the japanese army that wasn't real, but this is only because this things are not good. Like the fact that there existed a group of the army that tortured prisioners. I can't really tell if this is true or not, because I still haven't watched the movie. I was a bit sad when he said he was retiring, but he deserves it, he has been making such awesome movies for a long time already.
The styles on both of them are different, but they are awesome on their own way. I love to watch their movies, and even though both are not longer making them, I'll just keep watching what they already did.
